public intervention with abandoned vehicle and banana tree parts

In Fort de France, an unwanted car can be effectively abandoned to be picked up by municipal authorities if it has been designated by the owner as "VHU" (Véhicule Hors d'Usage), which means: "out of use vehicle". I interrupted the languishing state of this car, propped up right outside the gallery, by filling its orifices with dried pieces of banana plants, at first sight invoking the amputated remains of a car crash victim, but more subtly perhaps, the unredeemable qualities of the plantation economy in the Caribbean.
